This is where it all started, and continues to grow and advance: our eight-acre main campus in Columbia, South Carolina – the home of both the original REI Automation and sister company, REI Nuclear LLC.
The growth has accelerated since the turn of the century. In 2006, a new design and assembly facility was constructed on our Columbia campus, and we celebrated a further plant expansion in 2010. In 2013, we started REI Nuclear, LLC to specifically provide decommissioning and dismantlement services to the nuclear industry, purchasing the adjacent land and building to facilitate the growth in this niche market.
In 2014, we added additional office space and conference areas in a new wing of our original building.
Then in 2015, as we celebrated our 25th anniversary, we dedicated a new 14,000-square-foot state-of-the-art machine development center. This open-span assembly hall features an 80-foot-wide, ten-ton bridge crane designed specifically for the fabrication of larger production lines. With ample electrical, pneumatic and vacuum utilities, the new facility helps us create our automation systems for the automotive, medical, nuclear, electrical/communications, and consumer goods markets.
